Sons of the American Revolution

The Sons of the American Revolution is the largest male lineage association in the U.S. dedicated to preserving the history of the American Revolution. The basic tenets of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) are to perpetuate the memory of the people and events of the American Revolution, to maintain the institutions of American Freedom, and to promote fellowship among the  descendants of Revolutionary War Patriots. The Marquis de Lafayette Chapter,  located in Fayetteville, Georgia, serves the citizens of Fayetteville, Coweta and Fulton counties. We provide patriotic and historical programs to schools as well as recognition to outstanding Eagle Scouts, ROTC cadets, police officers, and firefighters. Through Proclamations and Certificates of Appreciation, we help remind every citizen and public official that the privilege of freedom is not free. We need the help of all patriotic Americans to secure for future generations the liberties provided by our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and American institutions. Come join the Fayetteville Chapter or one of our partners in the cause of freedom: Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR)Georgia Children of the American Revolution,  American Legion, or Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).

We hope you will take time to learn more about our activities and visit us at one of our meetings in Fayetteville, Georgia. If you are interested in genealogy, we might be able to assist you or point you in the right direction. If you are a male over the age of 18 and have a patriot ancestor that supported the American Revolution, we can help you become a member of the SAR.
