December 2, 2017 – Decorating Christmas Trees at the VA Hospital

The Marquis de Lafayette GASSAR had a full day on Saturday, December 2 beginning with decorating three Christmas Trees at the VA Hospital in Decatur.

How many SAR does it take to decorate a Christmas tree? Walt Reed, Mike Sanderson. And John Swab are helped by Linda Reed, and in another picture, John Swab, David Jessel, and Matthew Swab get the Christmas balls sorted out.

A few hours later, the MDL Christmas crew met to decorate the chapter float with Flags of America. Sara and John Swab, David and Brenda Jessel, Walt Reed, Mike Sanderson, Brenda Jessel and Anna Thompsons, photographer, enjoyed the Fayetteville Christmas Parade. Over 350 stick Flags were given out by Anna Thompson and Brenda Jessel to happy parade-goers. Thank you to David Jessel for fetching and returning the float to her home at John and Susan Sloan’s Fayetteville home.

It was a very productive day for the hard-working Marquis de Lafayette GASSAR, the Ladies Auxiliary, and the General Daniel Newnan DAR.

November 2017 – Fort Morris “Come and Get it”

Linda and Walt Reed were at Fort Morris “Come and Get it ” commemoration of Col McIntosh’ defiance of the British Demand that he surrender the Fort or else all would be killed.
